LHASEY LOTSAWA Translations & Publications
The gift of the dharma exceeds all other gifts.
—Dhammapada, verse 354
Lhasey Lotsawa is a growing team of translators working under the guidance of Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche. It is branch organization of Chokgyur Lingpa Foundation.
As of this year, 2015, our main Chinese translation projects are:
1) Producing a large and comprehensive new prayer book for the global saṅgha
2) Translating A Lamp Illuminating the Path to Liberation, an introductory dharma book composed by Khenpo Gyaltsen of Ka-nying Shedrub Ling
A donation to Lhasey Lotsawa directly aids dharma practitioners by allowing them access to materials and teachings which would otherwise be unavailable to them. As the Buddha says in the above quotation, this is an unsurpassable gift!
Please join us in this worthwhile endeavour, helping spread the light of the dharma for the benefit of all beings.

1) Producing a large and comprehensive new prayer book for the global saṅgha
This prayer book will contain all of the prayers, short daily practices, aspirations and so on that are most commonly used in our tradition together with several very blessed, yet less well-known liturgies that Phakchok Rinpoche feels are of special importance and benefit.
The prayer book will contain Tibetan text, phonetics, and Chinese translation. The prayer book will also include several images of deities and the relevant visualizations. It will be 350+ A4 pages.
Although our saṅgha is relatively well-established with centers and groups all over the world, at present we do not have standardized and complete translations of all the prayers and practices that we use on a regular basis need and that the lamas wish to teach. This extensive prayer book will be a huge step in making the translations of these blessed practice texts more accessible, usable, complete, and also ensuring that the translations are consistent and accurate.
Total estimated cost (translation, editing, typesetting): USD 8000
2) Translating A Lamp Illuminating the Path to Liberation, an introductory dharma book composed by Khenpo Gyaltsen of Ka-nying Shedrub Ling
This is an introductory dharma book composed by Khenpo Gyaltsen of Ka-nying Shedrub Ling monastery and is being translated at Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche’s request.
The book explains many fundamental points of buddhadharma in a structured and simple way. It also elaborates on many practical aspects of dharma, such as the benefits and background of reciting mantras, doing kora (making circumambulations around sacred objects), prayer flags, mani wheels and so on, as well as the practice of meditation. The knowledge contained in this book will help practitioners of all levels clarify their knowledge and strengthen their confidence in the dharma.
It is our hope that once the translation is completed, our lamas will also teach from this book when visiting our centers and groups.
Total estimated cost (translation, editing, typesetting): USD 4000
Timeline:
We aim to complete the prayer book by early 2017 and to complete A Lamp Illuminating the Path to Liberation by the end of 2017.
